18-06-2025 | Their latest work ‘November’ created for the SemperOper Ballet will be premiering on the 28th of June in Dresden.
November deals with the theme of wind, an invisible and unpredictable force whose effect on people and the environment is made visible in the piece. The dancers interact with a giant curtain suspended from the ceiling. The fabric and body are moved in space by both artificially generated and purely imaginary wind, and their choreography influences them. They collaborated closely with visual artist Boris Acket on the scenography.

Dior Cruise Show
29-05-2025 | Imre and Marne choreographed for Dior’s Cruise 2026 show at Villa Albani Torlonia in Rome—a performance that fused dance, fashion, and history. Set amid candlelight, the show honored ancient Roman heritage through Maria Grazia Chiuri’s powerful collection. Different dance scenes brought the gardens to life, amplifying the show’s emotional and symbolic depth.
Associate Position
14-04-2025 | As of season 25/26 Imre and Marne will be associate choregraphers with Netherlands Dance Theatre.

Seasons of Dance
10-04-2025 | After a successful premiere at the Cinedans Festival in Amsterdam, Seasons of Dance will now be screening at various dance film festivals around the world.
The highly anticipated dance film by director Tommy Pascal and acclaimed choreographers Imre & Marne van Opstal, Peeping Tom, Bobbi Jene Smith & Or Schraiber, and Emilie Leriche. Set to The New Four Seasons, Max Richter’s stunning reimagining of Vivaldi’s timeless masterpiece. Four duets embody the essence of love in four phases in ‘Seasons of Dance.
Tour FKA Twigs
11-03-2025 | After the success of FKA Twigs latest album, the EUSEXUA tour will be going through Europe and the United States. Starting in Paris this coming Thursday.
Imre & Marne had the pleasure of choreographing and movement directing the show, working closely alongside creative director Jordan Hemingway and Twigs.

Voodoo waltz wins der faust
17-11-2024 | We are proud to announce Voodoo Waltz, the full evening work created with a selected group of dancers and Schauspielhaus Bochum was awarded with Der Faust in the category dance. This was announced at the official ceremony in Gera, Germany.
We couldnt be happier for all the people that worked so hard in front and behind the scenes to make this production happen. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for this recognition. Cheers to you!
Premiere I am Bob
15-10-2024 | The new creation ‘I am Bob’ created with the Hessian State Ballet is premiering on the 18th of October at the Staatstheater of Darmstadt. The work will also be performed at the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden.
The work explores the conformity and uniformity of our everyday life and the systems we inhabit. Through the use of rhythms and patterns it unveils the humanity that lies underneath with a tongue in cheek sensibility.
Nomination Voodoo Waltz
24-09-2024 | We are happy to announce that ‘Voodoo Waltz’ is nominated for ‘Der FAUST 2024’ in the category dance. The gala will be held on the 16h of November 2024 in Gera, Germany.
Voodoo Waltz is a full evening inspired by the book of Janja Rakus created with Schauspielhaus Bochum and a selected group of dancers. Congratulations to the cast and crew!
Atlas Song Opens festival
12-08-2024 | A full evening work created in collaboration with musician and singer Anna von Hausswolff will premier on the 23rd of August for the Goteborgoperans Danskompani in Sweden.
Together they will combine dance and live music in an innovative and urgent way, finding its inspiration in the music. Creating a landscape of memories where they bridge between concert and dance.
This program opens and celebrates the joint 30th anniversary of the Gothenburg Opera, and the Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival.
Kalamata Dance festival
10-07-2024 | The Hessian State Ballet will be performing ‘I’m afraid to forget your smile’ at the Kalamata Dance Festival in Greece, celebrating it’s 30 year anniversary.
They will be performing on Kalamata Megaron main stage on the 12th & 13th of July. The music of the performance will be performed live by the Melifono Extended choir, in collaboration with the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata. The choir is directed by Maria Bazou.
Heart Drive on tour
15-05-2024 | This spring Ballet BC will be presenting ‘Heart Drive’ on tour through Europe. The tour will take them to Reggio Emilia, Italy – Furth, Germany and finishing in Luxembourg.
The work premiered late 2022 in Vancouver, Canada. Exploring themes of love and pleasure, the work invites you to reflect, unburden and accept our instincts and impulses.’
Porsche, The pattern of dreams
09-04-2024 | As part of ‘The Art of Dreams’ initiative, Porsche is bringing together various artists to create a special event for the Salone del Mobile hosted in Milan, Italy.
Grounded in the iconic Pepita Fabric, it explores the importance of pattern, symmetry, rhythm and repetition.
Inside a uniquely created artwork by ‘Numen /For Use, Imre & Marne create a special performance on a selected group of dancers. Lead by a new composition by Amos Ben-Tal.
This performance will be shown on the 16th of April at the Palazzo Clerici.
'The Point being' on tour
12-03-2024 | Nederlands Dans Theater 1 will be taking the newly made work; The Point Being, created in collaboration with Studio Drift to Montreal, Ottawa and New York City.
The work explores the idea of synchronicity and is created starting from a multidisciplinary approach, in which choreography, scenography and music generate both friction and harmony.
V/ertigo returns
12 – 03- 2024 | The work ‘Im afraid to forget your smile’ will be premiering with the Hessian State Ballet on the 23rd of March at the Staatstheatre in Darmstadt. In collaboration with a sixteen head choir. The work is part of the program “V/ertigo’ and will be performed at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt.
Voodoo Waltz at Staatstheater Wiesbaden
22-02-2024 | Voodoo Waltz is coming to the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden as part of the co-production with the Hessian State Ballet.
The interdisciplinary work created with Schauspielhaus Bochum, explores the book by the same name, written by Janja Rakus. A dizzying world where dance meets drama, movement becomes text and choreography subtext.
Premiere Voodoo Waltz
15-01-2024 | Voodoo Waltz marks Imre & Marne’s first full evening work created in collaboration with three actors from Schauspielhaus Bochum and six specially selected dance artists.
Inspired by the book ‘Voodoo Waltz by Epileptics’ by Janja Rakus. The work explores a seizure like dream world where dance meets drama. Sometimes dance becomes subtext and text becomes choreography, constantly blurring the line between memory and reality. In a kaleidoscope cut of scenes we explore the lives of four central characters as pieces evolves.
Body Sculpture by Jordan Wolfson
08-12-2023 | Renowned sculpture and visual artist Jordan Wolfson premiered his most recent work in the National Gallery of Art in Canberra, Australia.
Imre and Marne had to pleasure to assist and consult him in the movement direction of his new animatronic piece.
“The intention is that the movement of Body Sculpture elicits the viewer to become activated in their bodies and therefore present,” Wolfson said in a statement provided by the museum. “It’s about seeing ourselves through three‑dimensional objects, which is what I believe sculpture as doing.”
Nomination Der faust
22 – 09-2023 | With great pleasure we announce “I’m afraid to forget your smile’ created for the Hessisches Staatsballett received a nomination for DER FAUST by the Deutsches Buhnenverein.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making this work. The winner will be announced on the 25th of November in Hamburg.

01-08-2023 | The Nederlandse Dans Dagen festival will be presenting an exclusive performance highlighting two works by Imre & Marne. Namely, ‘The little man’ by National Theater Mannheim and ‘I’m afraid to forget your smile’ by Hessisches Staatsballett.
The performance will be held in Maastricht on the 1st of October in the program, Nederlandse Dans Internationaal #1.
Heart drive premiere with TSc
31-05-2023 | Heart Drive will be enjoying its European premiere with Tero Saarinen Company on the 9th of June in Helsinki, Finland in the program: Van Opstal/Karttunen. The work is specially adapted for a selected group of dancers.
This marks an unique co-production with Ballet BC based in Vancouver, Canada where it premiered November 2022.

28-03-2023 | The new creation for the GoteborgOperans Danskompani, will be premiering in the program “Touched’ in Sweden.
Using a landscape as a metaphor for both the internal world and external triggers that lie beyond. To Kingdom Come explores how a singular event can take hold in different ways, where ripples of trauma show their reach, and our masks are laid to rest. When everything has burned to the ground, how do we choose to rebuild ourselves?
Dior campaign
18- 02-2023 | Dior released the latest commercial for their Spring/Summer 23 collection. Working alongside director Tan Muino, featuring choreography and movement direction by Imre & Marne, they made a baroque dream come to life.
Performed by a special selected group of dancers who were also part of the SS23 fashion show.
'The little man' is back
02-02-2023 | National Theater Mannheim is reviving ‘The little man’ for the program Young Lovers, which will be performed at the Altes Kino Franklin, a special location in Mannheim, Germany. The premiere will be on Saturday the 15th of March, 2023.
‘The little man’ was created for three dancers, exploring how limitations can make way for emotions in a confined space…

17- 11-2022 | ‘Baby don’t hurt me’ created for Nederlands Dans Theater 1 can be viewed online for free as part of the Dublin Dance Festival Digital 2022 from November 17th until the 20th.

This is an unique co-production with the Tero Saarinen Dance Company based in Helsinki, Finland. It will be restaged and performed by a selected group of dancers in spring 2023.
Contrasts on Nowness
18-10-2022 | An artistic collaboration with luxury Italian shoe brand Marsell was released today on Nowness. They gave Imre & Marne carte blanche contemplating the theme of ‘contrast’ resulting in a film and a series of photos by Andras Ladocsi.
In a context in which the loss of reference points puts minds into a state of suspension, bodies governed by gravity and tension move without orientation or direction in search of a new stability.
Lykke Li MVA nomination
29-09-2022 | The Lykke Li EYEYE film project got nominated for a Music Video Award under the category ‘best special visual project’. Imre & Marne collaborated closely with Lykke Li and director Theo Lindquist on the track ‘Carousel’.
Dior Spring/Summer 23
28 -09-2022 | Imre & Marne choreographed the fashion show for the new spring/summer 23 ready-to-wear collection designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri during Paris fashion week. They created a special choreography on a selected group of dancers supported by the unique set design by Eva Jospin and the music by Bjork and Ioanna Gika among others.
The show was a collective collaboration born of the meeting of different projects and languages, they have imagined a performance reminiscent of the Renaissance, evoking a classical language but imbued with a resolutely contemporary impetus.

Lykke Li at The Broad Museum
02 -08-2022 | For her first museum project, the internationally acclaimed Swedish artist Lykke Li partners with creative director Theo Lindquist and artist Nick Verstand to transform the Broad’s Oculus Hall into a hyper-sensory cathedral of female romantic fantasy, entitled Ü & EYEYE. Imre & Marne collaborated on the visuals for the song ‘Carousel’ that will be part of the exhibition.
